Prof. (Dr) J. M. Hans , is a topper and medalist from PGI Chandigarh. Dr. Hans has done pioneering work in the field of cochlear implant surgery and has done more than 3000 cochlear implants surgeries in his center, centers around the country and also in SAARC countries. He is the Founder Member of the Cochlear Implant Group of India . He is currently Chairman & Director Dr. Hans Centre for ENT & Cochlear Implant . He is Honorary Consultant to Ex Prime Minister of India. Dr. Hans is Government Member to the Ali Yajur Jung National Institute for Deafness, Mumbai. He is also the Government appointed Executive Member of the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing, Mysore. He is appointed Member to the National Program on Prevention and Control on Deafness (NPPCD). He is Advisor to UPSC and WHO. He pioneered the minmally invasive technique for Cochlear Imaplantation in India. He is visiting cochlear implant surgeon to the Medical Colleges of Chattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, PGI Chandigarh etc., to perform CI surgery on deaf and dumb children. He is also advisor Cochlear Implant Surgeon to Pingalwara Trust in Amritsar. Member ADIP, Committee of Cochlear Implant, Govt. of India. Member Executive Council AIISH Mysore.

Prof. (Dr) J. M. Hans is a Gold Medalist (MS ENT) from the prestigious institute, PGI Chandigarh. He pioneered the Veria technique in Cochlear implant surgery 22 years ago in India and has successfully operated on more than 3300 cochlear implants. He is the first ENT surgeon in India to have started the auditory brainstem implant in children. He has mentored many ENT surgeons all over India and the SAARC countries. He was the Professor and Head of the department of ENT at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, New Delhi. He is a Fellow of the House Ear Institute (USA) and Bionic Ear Institute (Australia). Prof. (Dr). J. M. Hans has held the prestigious post of ENT surgeon to the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. He was awarded the Padma Shri by the Ex-Hon’ble President of India, Shri APJ Abdul Kalam in the year 2005. He is the Member of the Executive Committee, Ali Yaver Jung National Institute for Hearing Handicapped, Mumbai, The Central Coordination Committee for Prevention of Deafness, Ministry of Health, Govt. of India, and The Executive Council, National Institute of Speech & Hearing, Mysore. Prof. (Dr) Hans is the Director of Dr. Hans Center for ENT, Hearing care, and Vertigo at New Delhi.
